My Story
Hi, I’m Jodi.
Born and still rooted in Georgia, I’m a lifelong art lover and collector who falls hard for color, texture, pattern, and art I just can’t walk away from because it grabs something deep in my soul. Kinda like a Pisces at the beach or eating a warm chocolate chip cookie. It wasn’t until the pandemic that I actually picked up a paintbrush, took a few online classes, and found my happy heART was really home.
Since then, I’ve turned my still unfinished basement into an art studio of sorts, joined some painting groups, and have become a bit of an addict for online creative classes. I firmly believe there is always more to learn and I love the rush of discovering a new technique, exploring a different medium, or buying new art supplies.
I describe my style as whimsical impressionism with a dash of illustration, which is a fancy way of saying I paint birds that don’t look like real birds, angels who are more playful than pious, and landscapes that feel familiar even when I’ve completely made them up. I embrace the wonky. I lean into the childlike. And I have a deep and abiding love for a good moon.
Vibrant colors, expressive brushwork, and familiar subjects reimagined with a touch of whimsy are my love language — and every piece is an open door.
And yes, there is a dog. His name is Halo, and he approves of all the art.
I’m so glad you’re here.
